Detailed Weather for Your Strava Activities

Your Strava activities tell you where you went, how far you ran or rode, and how you performed. Klimat adds another piece of the story: the weather conditions you trained in.

Klimat connects to your training log, retrieves weather for your activities, and writes the conditions into your activity description, where you and your followers can see them. You choose which conditions are reported and when.

Works alongside Strava

Strava shows weather on your activities. Klimat builds on it for athletes who want more detail:

  • In your description. The weather is written into the activity description, so it travels with the activity and anyone who sees the activity sees the conditions too.

  • More than a snapshot. Report conditions at the start, middle and end of an activity, or use minimum and maximum readings for supported metrics.

  • More metrics. Dew point, heat stress (WBGT), air density, altitude-corrected pressure, UV and more.

  • Your format. Use the default layout, a compact layout or write your own template.

  • Not just Strava. Klimat also supports Ride with GPS, Suunto, Nolio and Decathlon.

Depending on your configuration and plan, Klimat can report metrics including:

  • Temperature and apparent temperature

  • Humidity and dew point

  • Wind speed, direction and gusts

  • UV index and cloud cover

  • Heat stress (WBGT)

  • Air density and altitude-corrected pressure

  • Air quality and primary pollutant, for activities that finished in the last two hours

Why historical weather matters

A weather app tells you what conditions are like now. Your training history tells you what you actually did. Adding the environmental conditions lets you put those two pieces together.

Was that run slower because it was unusually hot? Did a long ride encounter stronger wind later in the day? With weather attached to the activity, you can look back at the conditions instead of trying to remember them.
